I applaud your coverage of the advances in science to make people stronger, smarter and longer-lived (“Cyborgs, superhumans and cranks”, March 22nd). But I object to the comparison of life longevity to the other human enhancements you discussed. The molecular pathologies of ageing cause progressive functional degeneration. It robs the old of the health and abilities they enjoyed as young adults.
